Chelsea are stepping up their efforts to land Benfica’s teenage starlet Diego Moreira with the Blues co-owner Todd Boehly keen to bolster his squad with young promising names.
Graham Potter’s side have set their sights on Moreira, the Portugal U19 international, whose terms with Benfica are due to expire in the summer of 2024 and there have been rumours of the club readying a new deal for their attacking talent.
According to a report from The Daily Mirror, it is claimed that Chelsea are looking to bring in the Benfica starlet who is represented by Jorge Mendes with Benfica struggling to retain Moreira amid interest from elsewhere in his services.
Mendes could be key to a potential move to Stamford Bridge for Moreira as Chelsea look to overhaul their ranks in the coming transfer windows with Boehly all set to back Potter with funds for new signings.
The upcoming January transfer window would be the first time Potter will oversee the transfer plans for Chelsea and the 47-year-old manager is tipped to dip into the market for a new forward and midfielder.
