Chelsea have stepped up their approach to sign Brazilian wonderkid Andrey Santos to give Graham Potter his second signing since his arrival in the dugout.
The 18-year-old Santos, who plays for Brazilian giants Vasco da Gama, is expected to become the latest acquisition of the Graham Potter era at the Bridge and provide Chelsea with some much-needed young blood.
According to a report from The Evening Standard, it is claimed that the Blues are nearing the completion of a deal to land Santos’ signature ahead of rival suitors Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.
Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali are said to have encouraged the club’s academy director Neil Bath to move in for Santos and bolster the youth ranks with the 2030 vision in mind to lift the level of homegrown players.
A move for Santos to west London will likely come on the back of Chelsea agreeing on a deal in principle with RB Leipzig to sign France international forward Christopher Nkunku for summer 2023.
