Chelsea step up interest in signing Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe

Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe could be forced to stage an exit from Ligue 1 giants this summer and it is Chelsea who are lining up an ambitious offer for the highly-rated France international.

The arrival of the veteran central defender Sergio Ramos at PSG earlier this summer has laid a threat to Kimpembe’s role in the starting XI for the Parisians and talk of his exit has gained ground as of late.

Reports from French news outlet L’Équipe claim that the PSG centre-back is now on Chelsea’s radar for this summer’s transfer window with Thomas Tuchel hoping to add to his existing options at the back before the new Premier League campaign gets underway next month.

Chelsea have already shipped out an exciting defensive talent in Fikayo Tomori to Serie A heavyweights AC Milan and Tuchel will be backed by the Blues board to bring in a quality replacement for the young England international who has made the move to San Siro on a permanent basis.

The World Cup-winning Frenchman Kimpembe is one of the top players in his position in world football and his arrival at Stamford Bridge is sure to be of paramount importance to the Chelsea backline.
