According to 90min (h/t Football London), Chelsea are said to accelerate talks with midfielder Conor Gallagher amid interest from several Premier League clubs.
The English ace had a somewhat half-hearted first season in the Blues’ first-team squad, with consistent appearances but often as a substitute.
Due to his limited impact under different managers, there were widespread reports in the summer suggesting that Chelsea were prepared to sell him.
Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital were initially looking to bolster the club’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) situation, considering Gallagher as a viable option due to the profit generated from selling an academy graduate.
Despite strong links to other PL teams, the West Londoners ultimately retained the midfielder, a decision supported by head coach Mauricio Pochettino.

Under the manager’s leadership, the former Crystal Palace star has become a key member of the squad and has been named the third-choice captain at the age of 23.
Gallagher has started all 11 of Chelsea’s Premier League matches, making him one of only three outfield players to do so, alongside Thiago Silva and Levi Colwill.
Boehly and Clearlake have now shifted their stance on their star player, with the intention being to offer him a new long-term contract.
Previously, they had considered the possibility of letting the English star go, likely during the summer transfer window, to avoid him running down his contract.

Negotiations are expected to commence by the end of the year, with Chelsea’s intention to ward off any potential offers in January.
