Premier League duo Crystal Palace and Leeds United are in line to hear about Conor Gallagher’s decision to leave Chelsea this summer on a season-long loan spell amid both clubs jostling for his signature, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The young Blues playmaking talent has been heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in this summer’s transfer window with Thomas Tuchel keen on Gallagher gaining regular minutes of on-field action in the upcoming campaign.
With the midfield department at Chelsea well-stocked with many senior names including N’Golo Kante and the Euros-winning Italian Jorginho, Gallagher is highly unlikely to be handed sufficient first-team involvement for the west Londoners next season.
Leeds United were the relatively new entrants in the race to sign the 21-year-old who has been linked with a move to Selhurst Park since the transfer window got underway with the new Eagles boss Patrick Vieira eager to make some notable signings to bolster his side.
Chelsea’s shipping out Gallagher on a loan spell is likely to mean that Thomas Tuchel will be seen prioritising a move for his top target Declan Rice who is believed to be close to sealing an exit from West Ham United despite the club’s reluctance.
