Chelsea starlet Cesare Casadei is set to sign for Reading on loan with the midfielder looking to gain experience during his time away from the Blues.
The Italian signed for Chelsea from Inter Milan last summer and has impressed for the Under-21s at Stamford Bridge which is likely to have prompted Reading’s interest in moving in for his services.
According to the Evening Standard, it is claimed that the Championship outfit are closing in on the transfer ahead with Tuesday’s deadline looming over the Reading boss Paul Ince to reinforce his squad.
A short-term deal for Casadei could be of much importance to his development as a viable midfield option at the senior level after his stellar showings for Chelsea’s U21s with five goals in 13 appearances to his name.
The Blues have been in the market this month for a new signing to freshen things up in the engine room with Graham Potter resigned to losing two key first-teamers in N’Golo Kante and Jorginho at the end of the season upon the expiry of their contracts.
