Chelsea starlet Angelo Gabriel joins Ligue 1 club RC Strasbourg on loan

As reported by the club’s official website, Chelsea starlet Angelo Gabriel has embarked on a season-long loan with French Ligue 1 club RC Strasbourg.

The promising winger has garnered attention for his impressive showings in Chelsea’s pre-season matches.

Despite joining Chelsea from Santos for £14 million earlier in the summer, Angelo has already displayed his potential during the team’s pre-season tour in the United States.

His participation in friendly games against Wrexham, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Fulham has left fans impressed with his evident raw talent.

Despite impressing Chelsea’s management, the 18-year-old Brazilian attacker Angelo has been loaned to Strasbourg. Under the guidance of former Nice and Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira, the youngster will continue refining his skills in France.

Of note, Chelsea’s connection with Strasbourg extends beyond the loan arrangement. The club’s parent company, BlueCo, acquired Strasbourg after the previous season and established a distinctive partnership between the two clubs.

The Blues remains unwavering in its pursuit of young talents, maintaining a strong focus on youth recruitment and development. The club is also close to finalizing a deal for another young player, Deivid Washington, also from Santos.

Washington could potentially become the eighth signing for Stamford Bridge, marking the fifth under-20 player signing. Kendry Paez, another signing, is set to join in 2025. Diego Moreira and Lesley Ugochukwu have already joined the Chelsea ranks.

Moreira and Ugochukwu might potentially follow in Angelo’s footsteps with loan placements, shaping their future similarly. If all goes smoothly, there seems to be a promising trajectory for these youthful talents.
