Chelsea captain Reece James, who suffered a difficult season with injuries, has given an update about his recovery and summer schedule.
The Blues’ skipper spent much of the previous campaign on the sidelines recovering from a hamstring injury he sustained in December.
This needed surgery and a drawn-out rehabilitation period, which took over four months.
Even before last season kicked off, James was grappling with a hamstring issue, something that further delayed his return to the pitch.
These had reduced his appearances under the former coach Mauricio Pochettino to only 10 in the English Premier League and 11 in all competitions.
However, he made a return towards the end of the season as he tried to finish strongly.
As summer approaches, James looks to get back to full fitness.
He recently posted a video on his Twitter page, showing how serious he is with his return to recovery by going for a run.

The video later captures him hitting the sunny beaches of Santa Monica Beach in Los Angeles, California, to keep fit during the off-season.
Looking further ahead, James is due to rejoin Chelsea for their pre-season tour in the United States.
He will captain the side in friendlies against Wrexham, Celtic, Club America, Real Madrid, and Manchester City across the Atlantic.
This presents an excellent opportunity for James to get to full fitness and form associations with new teammates and coaching staff.
One big change James will find once he returns is that the Chelsea’s hot seat is now occupied by Enzo Maresca.
Pre-season training is now going to be under Maresca’s guidance, as he takes up his job at Stamford Bridge.
With the fresh start, James just hopes he can stay away from injury and remain on the field to make something happen.
The next season seems promising for James and Chelsea. Under Maresca, he is all set to challenge big for top six in the Premier League and the Europa Conference League.
In conclusion, Reece James is highly motivated to recover from his injury setback and has a strong comeback for Chelsea next pre-season under the leadership of Enzo Maresca.
