Chelsea FC spread the message of love to local hospitals by sending Christmas presents

The Chelsea FC players and staff were keen to support the local hospitals and spread some joy this Christmas to those who are staying there during this festive season. As the club could not arrange for the visits this year due to the pandemic issues, they have decided to send surprise gifts to all those people there.

Every patient was handed gift packages that had the theme of the club which ranged from footballs, backpacks, stationery sets and plush toy versions of the club’s very own Bridget and Stamford mascots.

The presents were warmly received at the wards of the children of both Chelsea as well as Westminster Hospital. these two places are partnered with the senior Chelsea team along with Kingston Hospital-especially for the women’s team.

They also received warm Christmas messages and well wishes for their speedy recovery from Chelsea players like Cesar Azpilicueta, Jorginho, Mason Mount.

Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard was very disappointed as he learned that they will not be able to attend the hospitals but said that nothing could stop them from surprising all those present there. The manager seemed to strategize plans for his upcoming Premier League fixture against Arsenal which would be very vital for both the teams.

Frank Lampard commented as per the Chelsea official website: ‘2020 has been like no other and we were disappointed to hear we could not make our annual visit to the children at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, something we always look forward to.’

‘The pandemic was not going to stop us surprising the kids and we’re delighted to have been able to send them some early Christmas presents. We hope they enjoy the gifts and we look forward to being able to visit next year.’

The Chelsea Foundation initiated to organize the Christmas goodies for them with the support of XW+, the official charity of the Blues. They were also aided by the likes of Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the team at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Everyone was happy in both the giving and receiving end at this festive week of Christmas.
