Chelsea is prepared to take Manchester United on in their pursuit of Aaron Anselmino one of Argentina’s most exciting young defenders.
Since, signing a number of young gifted players from Brazil and Ecuador, the Blues owned by Todd Boehly have been aggressively pursuing the South American market.
In an attempt to sign the 19-year-old center back from Boca Juniors before their Premier League rivals, the Blues have now set their sights on him.
Standing at 6 feet 2 inches Anselmino was checked out by Manchester United for some months along with other Argentine prospects.
Anselmino is regarded as one of the four Argentine players United was keeping a close eye on earlier this year.
Less than a year after making his senior debut for Boca Juniors, the teenager established himself as a vital member of the team and was soon offered a professional contract. Anselmino’s contract had a £15. 72 million release clause added by Boca Juniors in January.
When they extended his contract till 2028, but they did away with this clause admitting that the original sum was insufficient to deny prospective clubs.

For Boca Juniors therefore, a bidding war between Premier League clubs for their star kid might prove very advantageous. Manchester United are now directly in competition for Anselmino’s signature.
Being willing to pay Boca’s asking price, both clubs have made the young defender one of the most sought after prospects this transfer window.
According to some reports, Manchester United intends to sign Anselmino and then loan him to another INEOS-owned team, a move that is similar to what Chelsea has done with their star kids. Recently the players, Andrey Santos and Angelo were loaned by the Blues to their sister club Strasbourg.
Additionally, there is a talk that Estevao Willian for whom Chelsea is purportedly paying over £60 million may travel to France with them in the spring of 2020 after turning 18. Chelsea’s desire to acquire Anselmino is evident of their dedication to developing young players into a competitive team.
