Chelsea are believed to be in line to table a big-money contract renewal for playmaker Mason Mount with Thomas Tuchel keen to tie him down to a new long-term deal.
The contract proposal in the offing for the England international attacking midfielder could be set to double his £80,000-a-week wages in the English capital, according to a report from The Daily Mail.
Mount notched up excellent figures of 11 goals and 10 assists in top flight action this season to emerge as one of the standout performers at the Bridge for Tuchel’s Chelsea who finished third in the league standings.
Todd Boehly’s takeover of the Blues which is speculated to be imminent come the next couple of weeks with only approval from the UK government pending could be key to Chelsea offering the new deal to Mount and his camp.
The 23-year-old was shockingly linked with a move away from Chelsea earlier this year with Liverpool lined up as surprise candidates for Mount’s signature with Jurgen Klopp looking to add to his options in the final third of the pitch.
