Chelsea set to accelerate their efforts to sign Leeds United star Tyler Adams

Chelsea are set to escalate their efforts in pursuing Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams in the coming week, as reported by The Athletic.

The club has been monitoring the American midfielder, who holds a contract with Leeds that features a release clause valued at approximately £20 million.

While Brighton & Hove Albion’s Moises Caicedo remains Chelsea’s primary target for the defensive midfield position, the Seagulls rejected the club’s fourth bid of £80 million for the 21-year-old last month.

Nonetheless, the Blues are determined to make another bid to secure Caicedo’s signature. Notably, Fabrizio Romano has clarified that negotiations for the South American and the potential deal involving Adams are distinct and separate matters.

Aston Villa are also expressing interest in Adams, given Leeds’ relegation from the Premier League. Despite Leeds’ challenges, Adams’ notable performances have garnered attention.

He excelled both for his club and on the international stage, even leading the United States national team as captain during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The 24-year-old midfielder moved to Leeds from RB Leipzig last year. In his first season, he left a strong impression with 24 league appearances.

Adams possesses remarkable determination and a skill for retrieving the ball in midfield, making him an invaluable asset for any club.

Despite ongoing transfer speculation, the experienced player was present at Elland Road to witness Leeds’ opening Championship match, which resulted in an exciting 2-2 draw against Coventry City.
