Chelsea are reportedly set complete the deal to sign New England Revolution goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic with the Blues lining up a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Kepa signed for Real Madrid on loan this week with the Spanish shot stopper returning to his homeland leaving Chelsea with the task of finding a backup for the new recruit Robert Sanchez.
According to a report from the Evening Standard, it is claimed that the Stamford Bridge camp are confident of completing a deal for Petrovic who has earned rave reviews for his displays in the Stateside, emerging as one of the best in the MLS.
Mauricio Pochettino’s starting goalkeeper at the club is all but certain to be Sanchez following his move to west London earlier in the summer window from Brighton where had grown into a regular on the team sheet.
Chelsea will be delighted to land Petrovic’s signature with their arch rivals Manchester United credited with an interest in signing the MLS talent to be Andre Onana’s deputy with Nottingham Forest also said to be in the mix.
