The Blues are set for a major transfer window under new boss Thomas Tuchel and the German seems to have zeroed on a potential target who had been subject to interest from Chelsea last summer as well.
Reports from The Telegraph claim that the west London giants have revived their former interest in making a move for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice ahead of the new season.
Rice seems to have caught Thomas Tuchel’s eye
The England international has been in fine form for The Hammers over the course of this season which comes to a close on Sunday and could be on the way out of the London Stadium should any of the interested parties step up their approach for his services.
Despite being targeted by Chelsea under former boss Frank Lampard, Rice has once again courted attention from the Blues who are now being managed by Thomas Tuchel who has taken a special liking to the highly-rated midfielder.
Chelsea could use Tammy Abraham as a makeweight in deal for the West Ham man
Tammy Abraham is one name in the Chelsea camp who faces an uncertain summer ahead of him and could seek an exit in the transfer window due to lack of first-team involvement in recent times.
However, Tuchel could be set to use the Stamford Bridge outcast as a possible makeweight in a deal for Rice should West Ham demand a huge transfer fee to part ways with the England international.
