Chelsea have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford next summer on a free transfer with the player’s Old Trafford future hanging in the balance.
The new owners at Stamford Bridge, led by Todd Boehly, have hit the ground running much swifter than expected following a busy summer transfer window that saw Chelsea emerge as the highest spenders in the Premier League.
Moreover, the sacking of Thomas Tuchel and bringing in Brighton’s Graham Potter as the replacement has sounded out that Boehly means business with the American now eyeing up another big-name signing for the west London side.
According to a report from the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, England international Marcus Rashford, who is yet to sign on extended terms with Manchester United, is a new name on Chelsea’s shopping list for next summer should he become available.
Chelsea are willing to match Rashford’s hefty wage demands, believed to be in the region of £10.5 million per year, with the 24-year-old winger viewed as a viable addition to the attacking ranks for the Blues.
