Chelsea have registered an interest in signing Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez with Thomas Tuchel keen to bolster his attacking roster in the summer.
Mahrez is out of contract with the Premier League holders Manchester City at the end of the 2022-23 season and a new agreement remains to be tabled between the two parties.
The Blues, meanwhile, in their hunt for much-needed reinforcements in the final third could zero in on Mahrez as a top target for this coming summer, according to a report from the French news outlet Foot Mercato.
Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are also in the mix for the Algeria international which could make things difficult for Chelsea with a head to head contest between both clubs tipped to be on the cards.
Manchester City are understood to be interested in pocketing a sizable €40 million asking price for Mahrez’s exit with the 31-year-old wide player growing into one of the top performers under Pep Guardiola since making the move to the Etihad from Leicester City in 2018.
