Chelsea have reportedly received a major boost in their long-standing attempts to sign Ousmane Dembele in this summer’s transfer window.
According to a report from the Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Barca are mulling over withdrawing their offer extended to Dembele who it out of contract with the Catalan giants come June 30.
The Frenchman is a coveted name this summer with a host of top clubs across the continent chasing him but it could be Chelsea walking away with the prized signing due to the Thomas Tuchel factor.
Tuchel has worked with Dembele before at Dortmund and the Chelsea boss is understood to be prioritisng a swoop for his former player whose arrival will provide some much-needed firepower to the attacking roster in the Stamford Bridge camp.
Dembele registered 13 assists and scored once in 21 La Liga outings last season and should he make the move to the English capital, the Frenchman would be lined up as a viable replacement for the Inter Milan bound Romelu Lukaku.
