Chelsea are said to be readying a big-money offer for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Matheus Nunes who is also wanted by Wolves in this summer’s transfer window.
According to a report from the Portuguese publication A Bola, it is claimed that Chelsea have a strong interest in moving in for the 23-year-old midfielder following his stellar run of displays for Sporting.
Thomas Tuchel is yet to make his first signing of the summer window but recent speculation has suggested that the Stamford Bridge giants are closing in on the capture of Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling in a big-money deal.
With Tuchel likely to reinforce his midfield ranks ahead of the start of the next season, Nunes could prove to be an excellent piece of transfer business for Chelsea with the Sporting man courting interest from the likes of Wolves and Everton in the recent past.
Both of Chelsea’s key midfield players in N’Golo Kante and Jorginho have entered the final 12 months of their respective terms in the English capital and the latter has been linked with a move to Italy when his contract runs out.
