Chelsea are reportedly readying a sizable £45 million bid for Inter Milan wing-back Denzel Dumfries when the transfer window reopens this January.
Dumfries has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the recent past with the defender courting serious interest from the west London outfit following his stellar run of showings in the Inter shirt.
According to a report from the Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport ( via The Daily Express), it is claimed that Chelsea are keeping close tabs on the former PSV man’s situation and are mulling over launching a £45 million offer for securing his signature.
Despite speculation that Inter are not willing to part ways with their key first-team regular Dumfries midway through the campaign, Chelsea are hoping to convince the Italians by allowing the Holland international to stay with his current club on loan until the end of the season.
Dumfries was snapped up by Inter Milan from PSV for a knockdown fee of £12 million in the summer of 2021 with the wing-back putting pen to paper on a long-term deal that is not due to expire until 2025.
