Chelsea are ready to open talks with Atletico Madrid to sign Joao Felix permanently this summer with the on-loan forward impressing the Stamford Bridge chiefs.
Felix made the move to west London in the January transfer window in a loan move until the end of the season and the Portugal international has netted twice in the 12 appearances he has made so far.
Despite suggestions that Atletico, who forked out an eyewatering figure of £113 million to land Felix’s signature from Benfica back in 2019, would not be parting ways with him cheaply, Chelsea are willing to enter into talks with the player’s parent club.
According to a report from the Spanish publication AS, it is claimed that Chelsea want to talk numbers with Atletico with the player said to be happy at the Bridge and keen to extend his stay beyond the coming summer.
Felix has no plans of a return to Atletico to work under head coach Diego Simeone with whom the former shares an uneasy relationship and would be looking to pile his trade elsewhere.
