Chelsea pursuit Declan Rice is expected to get a substantial offer from West Ham

Declan Rice has reportedly been handed an eight-year deal by West Ham United in an attempt to stave off interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea, Manchester United, and Manchester City.

West Ham United has reportedly given Declan Rice an eight-year contract to fend off interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea, Manchester United, and Manchester City.

However, the 23-year-old is attracting a lot of interest from some of England’s biggest teams, as he is expected to permanently take over the captaincy in East London when Mark Noble retires at the end of the season.

Despite this, the England international may be persuaded to commit his long-term career to West Ham, particularly following their recent promise of faith.

Because, according to talkSPORT, the Hammers have offered Rice an incredible eight-year contract paying £200,000 per week.

If the claim is correct, the club’s intention to construct a team around Rice for years to come is a significant statement.

The Scottish manager stated that his previous (£100m) price tag will have a big rise this summer up to (£150m) if any club wants to start negotiating for his signatures.

“The first thing to say is that he is not for sale. If you are interested, well, it will be north of that because £100million was cheap last summer. £150million just now would be minimum but he is not for sale. What I do know is that it means there are only certain clubs that could even consider it.”

It would also enhance his value tenfold, implying that a rival club would have to pay astronomical sums to get him to leave West Ham.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether he would sign such a long-term contract, but it will be intriguing to see what occurs in the following weeks.

West Ham manager David Moyes has been adamant about his favorite player in Rice not leaving through the London Stadium’s exit door in his interviews.
