Chelsea are keen on signing Moises Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion this summer as they aim to overhaul their squad for the upcoming season.
The Blues had a bid of £70 million rejected by Brighton on Monday. However, they are not deterred and are now gearing up to make an improved offer of £80 million plus potential add-ons, according to the Daily Mail.
Caicedo has become a highly sought-after player among top English clubs due to his outstanding performances during the 2022-23 season, which contributed to Brighton finishing sixth in the standings.
The talented midfielder played in 34 matches in the top flight, showcasing his defensive prowess with an average of 2.7 tackles, 1.5 interceptions, and 0.7 clearances per game.
Additionally, he made two goal contributions and had an impressive passing accuracy of 88.8 per cent.

Despite attracting interest from various clubs, the Ecuador international is eager to take on a new challenge by moving to Chelsea.
Brighton are open to letting Caicedo depart this summer, but they are holding out for a significant transfer fee of £100 million.
The 21-year-old midfielder recently signed a contract extension until 2027 in March and is considered one of the most promising talents in the Premier League. However, Chelsea are unlikely to meet Brighton’s steep valuation of £100 million for the player.
In a potential negotiation, Brighton are expected to consider an offer of around £80 million from Chelsea, which could be an acceptable fee for the young midfielder.
