Chelsea are reportedly prepared to fork out up to £60 million for signing Everton forward Anthony Gordon before the transfer window’s deadline on September 1.
The 21-year-old attacker has emerged as a top name on Chelsea’s shopping list for this summer with Thomas Tuchel looking to add much-needed firepower to his forward lineup despite bringing in Raheem Sterling from Manchester City.
According to a report from Sky Sports, Chelsea are ready to pay a £60 million fee including add ons to land Gordon’s signature and provide Tuchel with a viable name to bolster his attacking ranks with for the 2022-23 campaign.
Everton’s reluctance to sanction the sale has been well documented as of late with the Goodison Park outfit not keen to give into Chelsea’s repeated efforts to poach their key first-team regular who has been an influential performer for Frank Lampard.
The Toffees are understood to have tabled a new contract offer for Gordon whose current terms with the Merseysiders are due to expire in the summer of 2025 with the Everton No.24 not open to penning a renewal.
