Chelsea are pondering over launching a bid for Frankfurt wing-back Filip Kostic with the new owner Todd Boehly ready to splash the cash this summer.
The change in the Stamford Bridge club ownership has given rise to speculation that Thomas Tuchel would be given a massive transfer kitty to work with as he aims to bridge the gap with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.
Spanish wing-back Marcos Alonso has reiterated his desire to call it quits at Chelsea this summer and his exit could further Chelsea’s interest in signing the highly-rated Bundesliga talent Kostic, according to a report from Fichajes.
Kostic has been one of the standout players for German team Frankfurt in recent years with the Serbian international’s ability to whip in crosses into the box making him a danger for opposition defences on the left-hand side of the pitch.
The Blues would need to shore up their ranks at the back ahead of the start of the new campaign with two established first-team names in Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen leaving on free transfers.
