Chelsea owner Todd Boehly remains keen on signing Cristiano Ronaldo this summer with the Manchester United forward desperate to leave Old Trafford.
Ronaldo has handed in a transfer request at United with the Portuguese superstar reaffirming his desire to call it quits and join a club which would be competing in the Champions League this coming season.
Thomas Tuchel’s Blues have been credited with a surprise interest in moving in for the Red Devils rebel despite rumours doing the rounds that the head coach Tuchel had decided against opening talks to sign the 37-year-old forward.
According to a report from 90min, the new Chelsea owner Boehly is still keeping close tabs on Ronaldo’s fast-escalating situation which failed to subside despite a meeting with United’s top executives and manager Eric ten Hag.
Ronaldo and his agent Jorge Mendes had held talks with United’s chief executive officer Richard Arnold and boss Ten Hag with the player, who missed the club’s pre-season tour due to personal reasons, recently returning to the Carrington training complex.
