Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has set plans in motion for a major redevelopment of the club’s stadium Stamford Bridge instead of finding a new home.
There had been fears among Chelsea supporters that the Blues could on the move to a new stadium elsewhere as the Bridge’s capacity was just under 42,000 which was below their Premier League rivals.
According to a report from The Sun, it has been sounded out that the new co-owner Todd Boehly has committed to what will be a massive Stamford Bridge redevelopment to put the Blues faithful at ease over a previously speculated move to Earl’s Court.
Boehly has been hard at work behind the scenes to bolster the squad at his new manager Graham Potter’s disposal heading into the New Year following the former’s acquisition of Chelsea earlier this year.
The west London giants sit in mid-table after a disappointing start to the season and the change in managers, with Potter being brought in to replace Thomas Tuchel in the dugout, was Boehly’s idea to ensure a turnaround in form.
