Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is believed to be no longer keen to pursue Cristiano Ronaldo following his sudden departue from the Manchester United fold.
Ronaldo’s contract at Old Trafford was terminated after his recent explosive interview to Piers Morgan led to United making the decision to part ways with the Portuguese superstar ahead of the Janaury transfer window.
The Blues had been one of Ronaldo’s many suitors last summer only for then Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel to express concerns over moving in for the 37-year-old despite the owner Todd Boehly looking to strike a deal for the switch to the Bridge.
According to a report from The Daily Mirror, it is now hinted that Boehly has made a U-turn over his previous stance to bring Ronaldo to west London with the former likely to look elsewhere for reinforcements to bolster his front line.
Graham Potter, since he replaced Tuchel in the dugout, has shown no change of plans on the transfer front with the new head coach equally disinterested in making an approach to sign Ronaldo.
