According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is nearing a move to AC Milan for a deal worth an initial fee of €16 million plus €4 million in add-ons.
Romano has confirmed that Loftus-Cheek has already agreed to personal terms with Milan and is excited about joining the Serie A club’s project for the upcoming season.
This move comes after a season where the midfielder has seen a decline in his playing time at Chelsea. Milan has identified the English midfielder as a replacement for Sandro Tonali, who is set to join Newcastle United.
The slower-paced style of the Italian top flight is expected to suit Loftus-Cheek’s playing style. Chelsea are actively offloading players as they aim to trim their large squad ahead of the upcoming season.

Loftus-Cheek will be joining the list of departures, which includes notable names like N’Golo Kante and Kalidou Koulibaly.
The club’s extensive spending in recent transfer windows, combined with their failure to secure Champions League qualification, puts them at risk of breaching Financial Fair Play regulations.
However, with potential departures of players like Mateo Kovacic and possibly Mason Mount, Chelsea will need to revamp their midfield before the season begins.
Mauricio Pochettino will require a strong midfield to make an impact, as a weak midfield could hinder their competitiveness.
