Chelsea are reportedly open to sanctioning a loan deal for the out-of-favour Romelu Lukaku who is wanted by a host of clubs across Europe this summer.
Lukaku returned to Stamford Bridge after his loan spell with Inter last term but the Serie A giants decided against making the Belgian’s transfer permanent – which has led to speculation over Lukaku’s future in the Chelsea shirt.
The Blues’ new head coach Mauricio Pochettino is keen to allow Lukaku, who signed for Chelsea in a £98million deal two years back, to leave on a permanent transfer. However, no interested parties have shown interest in meeting Chelsea’s financial demands.
According to a report from The Athletic, Chelsea could now be willing to entertain a loan exit for Lukaku, which marks a change in tactics with just one week of the September 1 transfer deadline for Premier League clubs.
Serie A clubs Juventus and Roma and teams in the Saudi Pro League have been keeping tabs on the Chelsea outcast Lukaku with recent reports suggesting that Roma were stepping up their pursuit to move in for the striker.
