Chelsea are prepared to include midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek in a player-plus-cash swap for Inter Milan star Milan Skriniar, according to a report from the Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport.
Skriniar has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer in the recent weeks with Chelsea on the lookout for some much-needed reinforcements for their depleted defensive roster.
The exits of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen on free transfers has left Thomas Tuchel with his task cut out in bringing in replacements ahead of the next season’s start and the 27-year-old Skriniar is believed to be a priority target for the German.
He has been a standout performer in Italy’s top flight for Inter Milan who are open to knocking down their asking price for their star defender to just £50 million with Chelsea’s interest in Skriniar said to be rivalled by North Londoners Spurs.
Antonio Conte is also keen on moving in for the Inter defensive mainstay with a bidding war expected to be on the cards should Chelsea step up their approach for the Slovakian international in the forthcoming weeks.
