Chelsea open to accepting offers for defender Antonio Rudiger after Tottenham game drama

Chelsea is open to any offers for their defender, Antonio Rudiger, and will likely let him leave the club before Monday’s transfer deadline. But the Blues would preferably sell him to any overseas club rather than their direct rival, Tottenham Hotspurs who are also keen to take him.

Antonio Rudiger has not played a single game till now for Chelsea in the Premier League this season. He was on the team bench in Chelsea’s season-opening match against Brighton.

Chelsea coach, Frank Lampard wanted to field him against Spurs but the German defender refused to take part in the game.

This is because his sudden omission which included not featuring in the FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal last season after playing 26 games for the club has surprised him and his representatives.

He asked assurances from the coach over his role in the team but Lampard has not cleared the air if he is a part of the team or not. Chelsea’s summer signing has seen veteran defender, Thiago Silva’s joining in the squad which has moved him considerably down the pecking order.

As per TeamTalk reports, Rudiger being unsure about his future, refused to face Tottenham Hotspur in yesterday’s fourth round Carabao Cup tie.

The defender was linked to AS Roma and Paris Saint Germain earlier but after failing to sign Milan Skriniar from Inter Milan, Spurs has joined the race too.

It is not clear if he will take an exit from the club or not but the coming last days of the transfer window will surely be exciting to see.
