Chelsea are reportedly open to a salary-sharing loan agreement with Inter for Romelu Lukaku who has been pushing for a return to San Siro this summer.
The Belgium international has found his future subject to much speculation in recent weeks after a misfiring campaign back in the Premier League sparked off rumours that Lukaku was keen on making his return to Italy’s top flight.
His former club Inter Milan are credited with a strong interest in re-signing the 28-year-old forward but difficulties on the pricing front, with Chelsea in no mood to agree to a cut-price deal, has caused uncertainty over the terms between the two clubs.
A claim from the journalist Ben Jacobs has sounded out that Chelsea would be willing to come to a salary-sharing loan move for Lukaku to San Siro with the player himself open to a lower pay package in order for the transfer to sail through.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are on the hunt for reinforcements in the attacking third and Lukaku’s departure looking imminent, Thomas Tuchel is likely to delay the Belgian’s exit until he finds his viable replacement for the No.9 role.
