Chelsea are said to have opened talks with Bundesliga giants Borussia Monchengladbach over signing Marcus Thuram in the January transfer window.
The Blues are in urgent need of reinforcements to bolster their front line which has failed to hit the ground running consistently this season despite spending big on snapping up Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang last summer.
According to a report from football.london, it is claimed that the Chelsea camp have got negotiations underway with Borussia Monchengladbach over a cut-price transfer for the 25-year-old in-demand forward Thuram.
The France international frontman is now in the final six months of his contract with Monchengladbach and could be seen moving on soon as Chelsea look to bring in a new signing to provide Graham Potter with much-needed firepower in front of th goal.
Thuram was an influential player for France in the 2022 FIFA World Cup with his contributions off the bench earning him plaudits with Europe’s biggest clubs keen to land his signature this winter on the cheap.
