Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is reportedly inching closer to sign for Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad who have tabled an eyewatering bid for the Frenchman’s services.
Kante’s current terms at Stamford Bridge were due to expire this month and there had been the expectation that the former Leicester City maestro will be on the move after turning down offers from the Chelsea board to extend his stay.
According to a report from The Guardian, Al-Ittihad are closing in on their second marquee signing of the summer transfer window after Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema with Kante poised to seal his move to the PIF-owned club.
The €100m-per-season deal would see Kante put pen to paper on a two year contract with an option to extend it by another as Al-Ittihad stand to boast of signing one of the most high-profile players in world football.
Kante is said to have completed his medical in London on Wednesday ahead of his move to Saudi Arabia where he will will link up with former Real Madrid talisman and fellow Frenchman Karim Benzema at his new club.
