Tiemoue Bakayoko is all set to spend the upcoming 2020-21 season on loan at AC Milan, according to reports. Chelsea FC have permitted the midfielder to agree upon personal terms with the Serie A outfit and the Frenchman is likely to join the Italian side on a loan-to-buy deal.
A number of English clubs like Everton and West Ham United had expressed interest in making a move for the ex-AS Monaco man this summer. However, Bakayoko had snubbed all offers to seal a move to AC Milan, having played at the Serie A club on loan during the 2018-19 season.
Stefano Piolo’s side are expected to pay a sizeable loan fee to the Blues for signing the 26-year old Bakayoko. The Italian side are also in constant negotiations with Chelsea FC over deciding a permanent transfer fee that is rumored to be in the region of €30 million.
Chelsea FC boss Frank Lampard was understood to be keen on letting Bakayoko exit Stamford Bridge this summer on loan to get the French international’s wages off the west London club’s books.
The 26-year old had failed to force his way into the Blues’ first-team squad despite a number of attempts since signing for the club in 2017 from AS Monaco. Chelsea FC had shelled out £40 million to sign the midfielder that summer, a significant chunk of what the club will hoping to recoup following the player’s permanent sale to AC Milan.
