Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher could be subject to serious interest from Liverpool who are expected to lose out on Mason Mount’s signing to Manchester United.
The Blues playmaker Mount had emerged as a top name on the summer wish list for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp with the German desperate to rebuild his engine room before the next season got underway.
Mount, however, is said to be leaning towards a move to Old Trafford this summer where the 24-year-old will have the chance to play in the Champions League while Liverpool will be competing in Europe’s second tier club competition.
According to a report from The Daily Express, it is claimed that should the Reds fail to bring Mount to Anfield later this year, his club and country teammate Conor Gallagher could be one that Klopp goes after in a bid to improve upon his midfield roster.
The 23-year-old Gallagher impressed many during his season long loan spell with Crystal Palace last term but his return to the Bridge saw the young midfielder struggle for regular time under three different managers.
