Chelsea managerial target Luis Enrique wants to sign Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak if he lands the top job at Stamford Bridge this summer.
Enrique is understood to be highly keen on taking over at the Bridge before the next season gets underway and the former Spain and Barcelona manager has already presented his ideas for the club to the board.
According to a report from The Evening Standard, Enrique wants to sign Oblak from La Liga giants Atletico if he is to arrive in the Chelsea dugout over the summer with the Spanish manager looking to bolster the goalkeeping ranks.
Oblak has long been admired by several Premier League clubs including Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur but it could be Chelsea who walk away with the highly rated shot stopper’s signature should Enrique arrive in west London.
Chelsea are expected to prioritise the signing of a goalkeeper for their squad ahead of the start of the next campaign with the current first-team options – Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga – not considered up to scratch.
