Chelsea have reportedly made a major breakthrough in contract talks with Mason Mount who was linked with a shock exit from the Bridge.
The England international’s future was up for speculation of late with rumours doing the rounds that Premier League giants Liverpool were keeping close tabs on his contract situation.
According to reports from Football Insider, however, it is now claimed that the 22-year-old Chelsea star is poised to renew his terms with the Chelsea camp and put an end to the talk that surrounds his future in the English capital.
The likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich maintain an interest in signing Mount but the player is backed to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge and put pen to paper on a new long-term contract.
Mount currently pockets a £75,000-per-week wage which is way lower than some of his star teammates and a new deal for the playmaker would surely put him in the higher earning bracket of Thomas Tuchel’s men.
