Chelsea make inquiry for French midfield prodigy Lucas Gourna-Douath

Lucas Gourna-Douath has made a number of clubs across Europe take note of his ability which has drawn comparisons to Manchester United’s World Cup-winning Frenchman Paul Pogba.

The 17-year-old Gourna-Douath who turns for Ligue 1 outfit Saint-Etienne has his admirers in Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea, according to reports from The Express, and the Blues are interested in making a move for the teenage starlet.

With Saint-Etienne’s struggles on the financial front well-documented, it is believed that the French side could be willing to listen to offers for their prized midfield prodigy who has made more than 25 first-team outings despite his tender age.

Chelsea have been quiet players in this summer’s transfer window so far but they are in line to complete Jules Kounde’s transfer from Sevilla and could look to follow it up by signing another highly-rated French youngster to bolster their ranks ahead of the next seasons’ start.

The Blues midfield department could do with some youthful addition after Tuchel has shipped out two impressive young talents out on loan this summer in Billy Gilmour and Conor Gallagher, the latter of whom has recently joined Crystal Palace in a season-long deal.
