Chelsea have reportedly tabled a bid for Inter Milan midfielder Cesare Casadei with Thomas Tuchel keen on moving in for the Italy under-19 international this summer.
Casadei is yet to make an appearance for Inter’s senior side but his showings at the youth level has earned him much praise and potentially a move to the Premier League with Chelsea interested in his services.
According to Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea attempted to negotiate a swap deal with Inter during the talks to send Romelu Lukaku back to the San Siro on a season-long loan earlier in the transfer window.
It is understood that Inter want to insert a buy-back clause in any deal for Casadei which could play spoilsport to Chelsea’s plans of signing the youngster who is pivotal to Tuchel’s hopes of adding to his midfield ranks.
Uncertainty has loomed over Jorginho’s future at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer of 2023 with the Italian’s current terms are due to expire as the likes of Juventus and Napoli keep tabs on his situation.
