Chelsea keeping tabs on Villareal’s wing-back Alfonso Pedraza

Chelsea have sought to make a move for Villareal’s wing-back Alfonso Pedraza with both full-back options Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri backed to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Will Faulks has claimed that the Blues have a strong interest in making a move for the La Liga wing-back who was an important clog in the Villareal side that were crowned the Europa League winners last season with a win over Manchester United in the final.

Both Chelsea players in Marcos Alonso and Emerson are heavily tipped to call it quits at the club ahead of the next season with the pairing being overtaken by last summer’s arrival Ben Chilwell in the pecking order for the west London giants.

Villareal too are understood to be open to parting ways with their defensive asset who is keen on a major wage bump should he join Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea outfit who are in for a major transfer window where the new boss will be looking to bolster his side before heading into the new campaign.

The 25-year-old Pedraza featured in 29 La Liga outings last season for Villareal, scoring once and registering two assists in the process which has made him a top target for the Blues in this summer’s transfer window.
