Chelsea are understood to be keeping tabs on Southampton’s Belgian midfield talent Romeo Lavia in their search for a new signing to reinforce their engine room.
Graham Potter is very much in the market for a fresh face to add to his midfield roster with his first-team star approaching the final six months of his terms at Stamford Bridge and likely to head into free agency next summer.
According to a report from football.london, it is claimed that the Blues are keen on Lavia who signed for Southampton in the summer from the Premier Leauge champions Manchester City in a £12 million deal.
The young midfielder has impressed with his showings on the south coast and could be on the move again with the country’s biggest clubs chasing his signature and his reported £50 million price tag is not expected to put them off.
Chelsea’s first choice duo on the shopping list in the English internationals Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice are not likely to be on the move until the summer of 2023 with their hefty asking price.
