Chelsea keeping tabs on Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier ahead of this summer

Chelsea are reportedly keeping tabs on Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier ahead of this summer’s transfer window as the Blues look to sign a new shot-stopper.

Todd Boehly wants to strengthen the goalkeeper position at Stamford Bridge amid speculation over Edouard Mendy’s future doing the rounds with the Senegal goalie expected to leave before the next season gets underway.

Leeds first-teamer Meslier has been an impressive figure for The Whites this season and his name is said to be on Chelsea’s wishlist for the summer with the Frenchman one of the cheaper options for Chelsea should Leeds drop down to the Championship.

According to a report from Football Insider, it is claimed that the 23-year-old Leeds goalkeeper has Chelsea chasing his signature with Leeds expected to slap a price tag north of £30 million on their in-demand shot-stopper.

Meslier had signed for Leeds initially on loan from French top flight side Lorient in 2019 with the Elland Road outfit choosing to activate their option to buy him permanently after the goalie’s impressive debut campaign.
