Chelsea are said to be keeping tabs on Argentina’s in-form full-back Nahuel Molina who has impressed Europe’s big clubs with his World Cup displays in Qatar.
The Blues were one of the interested parties in the defender last summer only to lose out on his signature to Atletico Madrid with the Spanish capital outfit snapping up Molina from Udinese.
Graham Potter’s side have been on the search for a new right-back to provide cover in that position for the injured Reece James and their first choice target Denzel Dumfries is likely to come for a hefty price tag.
According to a report from the Spanish news outlet Marca, it is claimed that Chelsea are looking to reignite their interest in the 24-year-old Molina with Atletico expected to be forced into the defender’s sale due to their precarious financial state.
Atletico head coach Diego Simeone was pivotal to Molina making the move to the La Liga giants in the summer and it is understood that the Argentine manager will be making all efforts possible to retain his player.
