Chelsea are reportedly keen to bring in RB Leipzig chief Christopher Vivell after striking a £52.7 million deal to sign playmaker Christopher Nkunku next summer.
Nkunku’s move to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season has come as a much-needed boost to the newly appointed head coach Graham Potter who took charge last month following Thomas Tuchel’s sacking and is tasked with the recruitment policy.
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has held the responsibility of director since the departure of Marina Granovskaia earlier in the year and the former is said to be searching for Granovskaia’s replacement ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window.
According to a report from the Evening Standard, it is claimed that Chelsea have turned their attention towards a move for the Leipzig chief Vivell with the west London outfit on the hunt for a new sporting director.
Boehly had eyed up a move for Leipzig’s sister club chief Christoph Freund and entered into talks with his representatives only for Freund to commit his future to the Austrian club.
