Chelsea are credited with a strong interest in making a loan move for Everton full-back Lucas Digne to help with the injury to Ben Chilwell.
The England international’s recent injury has sounded out fears that he could be set for a spell on the sidelines for an extended period leaving Thomas Tuchel with a major worry on the squad selection front.
According to reports from Todo Fichajes, it is claimed that Chelsea are mulling over a loan deal for Digne with an option to make the Frenchman’s signing permanent come next summer for a fee in the region of €25 million.
Digne’s relationship with the Everton manager Rafael Benitez has taken a turn for the worst of late and the French international could be set for the exit door at Goodison with Chelsea preparing an offer.
Marcos Alonso has returned to the starting team sheet at the Bridge in Chilwell’s absence but the former’s run of form has been far from convincing for Tuchel to decide against dipping into the transfer market for an emergency signing.
