Chelsea are reportedly increasingly likely to lose star central defender Antonio Rudiger on a free in the next summer’s transfer window.
Rudiger’s demands of a major hike in his wages had led to a long drawn out contract standoff with the Chelsea board who now staring at the possibility of parting ways with the player at the end of the season.
Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are understood to be in the fray for the Germany international’s signature with the Blues camp failing in the repeated attempts to tie down Rudiger to extended terms.
According to reports from The Daily Mail, it is claimed that with Europe’s top clubs queuing up to make lucrative approaches to Rudiger and his representatives, Chelsea are resigned to losing the 28-year-old on a free transfer next summer.
Rudiger is backed to become the highest-earning player in his position should he leave Chelsea and make a move elsewhere with the former Roma man in line to pocket a wage north of £400,000-per-week.
