The Blues are in line to seal the much-coveted signing of Inter Milan star first-teamer Achraf Hakimi who has reportedly given the nod to moving to Stamford Bridge over Paris Saint-Germain.
Chelsea had emerged as shock entrants in the race to sign the 22-year-old who had been a major target for PSG in this summer’s transfer window after Inter made it known that they were listening to offers for the Moroccon international.
According to reports from the Sun, Chelsea are to offer the Serie A champions £43 million for Hakimi with the addition of Marcos Alonso going in the opposite direction as a makeweight for the Italians to sanction the sale.
The 30-year-old Alonso had been seen some extended minutes on the pitch since Thomas Tuchel took over earlier this year but with Hakimi a priority signing for the new Chelsea boss, it had been understood that the Spaniard will be offloaded to make way for the new signing.
Hakimi’s transfer would be a major move in the market from the west Londoners who are being backed to aim for Premier League glory in the upcoming season after their Champions League heroics last time around.
