Chelsea are set for a three-way contest to land the signature of AC Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur also in the mix.
The Blues are keen to freshen things up in the centre of the park over the summer despite splashing a British record fee on recruiting Argentine World Cup star Enzo Fernandez in the January transfer window.
Fernandez could find a partner at Stamford Bridge in the Italy international Tonali whose stellar displays in the Milan shirt have not gone unnoticed with Chelsea keeping close tabs on his progress since the turn of the year.
Tonali has often been compared with Milan and Italy great Andrea Pirlo and the former could prove to be a brilliant piece of transfer business for Chelsea should the Blues pip his other suitors to his signing later this year.
