Chelsea are understood to be in pole position to snap up the signing of long-standing target Jules Kounde from La Liga outfit Sevilla.
Kounde has been one of the top names on the wishlist of the Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel who prepares to head into the new campaign without his key defensive names in Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger.
With uncertainty surrounding the future of club skipper Cesar Azpilicueta as well, it seems that Chelsea have sought to prioritise bringing in reinforcements from the market with Kounde’s move to Stamford Bridge reported to be in the final stages.
According to a claim from the transfer guru Andreas Korssund, the France international central defender has agreed on personal terms with Chelsea with Thomas Tuchel’s side ready to accept the asking price demanded by Sevilla.
Tuchel would gain immensely from Kounde’s ability at the back with the young Frenchman making his name in Spain’s top flight as one of the standout defensive talents after a pivotal campaign with Sevilla in which he has turned out in 43 outings across all competitions.
